Paul Abdella (Huei-Ming) began his martial arts training in 1966 at the St. Paul Judo Club under Sensei Stan Williams. In 1977, Paul began studying Chinese martial arts and learned an eclectic blend of eastern and western styles that combined Southern Chinese Kung Fu, western boxing and street techniques. Paul's teacher, Sifu Douglas Anderson, expanded this training with a unique stretching method and speed training system.

In 1982, Paul began studying T'ai-Chi Ch'uan with Master T.T. Liang. He is a certified disciple of Master Liang, from whom he learned the complete Yang-style T'ai-Chi Ch'uan system, which included the Solo Form, Pushing-Hands, Ta-Lu, San-Shou and Weapons.

In 1995 Paul began studying Liu Ho Pa Fa Ch’uan from Grandmaster Wai-lun Choi. He also studied Hsing-Yi Ch'uan and I-Ch'uan from Master Choi.

Paul also studied Jook Lum Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu from Grandmaster Gin Foon Mark, and is a certified disciple of Master Mark.

Paul teaches Qigong and meditation and is a certified Healing Tao Instructor under Michael Winn of Healing Tao USA. Paul is a member of the Healing Tao Instructors Association. Paul also studied Healing Tao practices with Master Mantak Chia.

Paul has taught and demonstrated T'ai-Chi in a variety of academic and health-focused organizations including the University of Minnesota. Paul promotes and teaches T’ai-Chi Ch’uan and meditation as a way to cultivate oneself and develop the discipline and clarity of mind to reach one’s highest potential. After more than three decades of study and practice Paul still experiences great joy and discovery in the practice of T’ai-Chi and in teaching and sharing the art with people of all ages.
